Meet our Board Members
Barbara White, President
As a recently retired faculty member from the University of New Hampshire with an educational background in occupational therapy and developmental psychology, Barb served as the university research partner to Krempels for 14 years and collaboratively completed several projects and publications on Krempels members’ perceived impact of attending. Barb is thrilled to return to the board after briefly stepping down to serve as interim co-Executive Director for Krempels in 2024. Barb has served witness to and believes deeply in, the mission of authentic and effective support for persons with acquired brain injury and notes as David K has so eloquently said over the years, “every person is but a chance encounter, accident, stroke, or simply bad luck away from a brain injury. Yet this ubiquitous injury that often masks itself behind a veneer of “normal appearing” remains underestimated, poorly understood, and vastly under supported.”
Susanna Fier, Vice President
Susanna established her business in 2020 and is the sole member of Susanna Fier Consulting, LLC, a marketing, communications, and public relations firm. She has over 23 years of experience in the field of public affairs and marketing having served as a Vice President at Elliot Health System in Manchester in leadership roles for both the Office of Philanthropy and Public Affairs & Marketing. Susanna holds degrees from the University of Vermont (BA) and UNH School of Law (JD). Susanna is currently serving clients in both the not-for-profit and for-profit worlds. She loves participating in mission-driven work and is inspired by the impact of Krempels for its members. Susanna loves spending time with family and is an avid skier and outdoor sports enthusiast.
Charles Champagne, Treasurer
Chuck is the Chief Financial Officer and Chief Operating Officer of the Northeast Rehabilitation Hospital Network (NRHN). NRHN has four inpatient locations located in Salem, Nashua, Portsmouth and Manchester, NH, over twenty outpatient rehabilitation clinics and a homecare division. Prior to joining NRHN in 2012, Chuck served as the CFO of New England Sinai Hospital in Stoughton, MA and CFO of Spaulding Rehabilitation Hospital in Boston, MA. When not working Chuck enjoys reading, traveling and spending time with family and friends especially on the Maine seacoast.
Nancy Colbert Puff, Secretary
Nancy has worked in public service for most of her career, most recently as Deputy City Manager of Portsmouth, and Town Manager of Kittery. She has a keen interest in public policy, leadership, and community development. Originally from Lawrence, MA, she enjoys living in the Seacoast area where she spends her free time playing tennis, cycling, walking along the seashore, and kayaking. She has a personal connection to Krempels’ mission, with a family member who is a TBI survivor.
Mark Mailloux
Mark is the Director of Outpatient Rehabilitation Services at Portsmouth Regional Hospital where he has worked since 1992. He holds a BS in Physical Therapy with Board Certification as an Orthopedic Clinical Specialist and an MBA in Healthcare Management. In addition to his board role, he is a member of the Program Evaluation Committee at Krempels. Mark is also the current President of the New Hampshire Chapter of the American Physical Therapy Association where he is passionate about increasing public awareness regarding the benefits of physical therapy as well as advocacy efforts to strengthen patient access to healthcare.
Mark Bonica
Mark has been a professor in the Department of Health Management and Policy at UNH since 2015. He has a PhD in Economics, MBA in organizational behavior, an MS in Finance, and a BA in Philosophy and English Literature. He teaches courses in management, finance, and economics. His research focuses on career development of healthcare leaders, with a special interest in how organizations can help people reach their full potential. Prior to coming to UNH he served as a Medical Service Corps officer in the US Army for 23 years. Outside of work he enjoys photography and kayaking.
Robert Carrigg Jr.
As a wealth manager, Rob helps people simplify their financial world so they can freely enjoy the success they’ve created. By getting to know his clients on a personal level, he helps them see the big picture of their wealth with a fresh perspective, empowering them to identify what really matters and align their finances accordingly. After graduating from Hamilton College in 1995, Rob joined Ameriprise and later moved to Merrill Lynch in 1998. It was during this time, in 1999, that he became a Certified Financial Planner (CFP). His practice since then has grown organically through client referrals, and today, Rob serves families locally in New Hampshire’s seacoast and across the country. In 2019, Rob transitioned his firm to Steward Partners.
Rob is passionate about giving back to his community. He has served on several boards of local nonprofit organizations, including serving as a Trustee for New Hampshire Public Radio from 2012 until 2018.
Jean-Marie Detcher
Jean-Marie is a Process Excellence Director at Liberty Mutual Insurance focusing on operations excellence and strategic planning. Her background includes experience in multiple industries including aerospace and defense, automotive, and medical devices. As a long time TBI survivor and cycler, Jean-Marie is passionate about participating in the Krempels annual cycling fundraiser, the King Challenge. In her spare time, she is a team leader for a Bike MS team for the National Multiple Sclerosis organization, enjoys exploring the outdoors and photography.
John Gilbert
John has over four decades of experience as an environmental engineering practitioner, business founder and leader, and strategic operations execution consultant to for-profit and non-profit businesses. He currently is the President/CEO of Martineau Electric, Inc. in Dover and President of Synchrony Advisors, LLC in Greenland. In addition to consulting to and serving as an interim executive director in the non-profit sector, John has served as Chair of the Board of the New Hampshire Center for Nonprofits and the New Hampshire Audubon Society and on the Board of Leadership New Hampshire. He serves on Executive Committee of the Business and Industry Association of New Hampshire and as Chair of the New Hampshire Water Council and recently chaired the Governor’s Commission on Water Sustainability. In his free time, John enjoys reading, traveling, genealogy, studying martial arts, and particularly spending time with family and friends.
Lou Ann Griswold
Lou Ann has been an occupational therapist since 1979 and has been teaching occupational therapy at the University of New Hampshire since the late 1980s. She currently is the chair of the Occupational Therapy Department. Lou Ann’s research focuses on promoting the quality of social interaction for people of all ages and circumstances to support their ability to enhance their participation in desired activities. Lou Ann and her husband have an elk farm in Lee, NH. Lou Ann’s hobbies include rug braiding and other embroidery and applique projects.
Barbara Kresge
Barb has been an occupational therapist since 1991 and is a graduate of Tufts University’s Boston School of Occupational Therapy with an MS degree. Barb’s passion for serving those in need was most ignited when she accepted the Program Coordinator role at the Krempels in 2006. Krempels’ mission and members captured her heart from the start. After several years Barb moved into the position of Program Director, a position that allowed her to straddle the responsibilities of day-to-day operations as well as to take a larger role in strategic initiatives, building networks within the brain injury community here in NH and nationally, designing and conducting research, and promoting the health and sustainability of the organization. After retiring from the organization in 2023, Barb returned briefly in the summer of 2024 as co-Executive Director with Barb White. Thrilled to join the board, in retirement, Barb continues to volunteer intermittently at Krempels, SELT (Southeast Land Trust of NH), ReadyRides, and the Brain Injury Association of NH (as a support group leader). Barb lives in Barrington, NH with her husband Scott, and enjoys spending time with her 2 sons, 27 and 29 years old.

Rob Glew, MSM, RPh
Rob Glew is a healthcare executive and licensed pharmacist with more than 25 years of leadership experience in hospitals, health systems, and physician practices. He currently serves as Executive Director of Southern New Hampshire Radiology Consultants, where he oversees operations, finances, and strategic growth for New Hampshire’s largest physician-owned radiology practice. Previously, Rob held senior leadership roles at Elliot Health System, directing operations for a wide range of clinical and support services. In addition to his professional career, Rob is deeply committed to community service and served as Chief Volunteer Officer and Board Chair of The Granite YMCA. He holds a Master of Science in Management with a concentration in Health Care Administration.
Lexie Cargill
Lexie is the founder and owner of the Lexie’s family of restaurants, one of the Seacoast’s most recognized locally owned restaurant brands. Since opening the original Portsmouth location in 2010, she has expanded the business to multiple locations while earning a reputation for exceptional hospitality, entrepreneurial leadership, and community engagement. A graduate of Salem State University with a bachelor’s degree in Sports Management, Lexie also participated in the prestigious Semester at Sea program. Before launching Lexie’s, she and her husband, KC, managed restaurant operations at several local clubs and golf courses, building the foundation for their success. Today, Lexie also owns Gerry’s Variety, operates both food and ice cream trucks, and remains actively involved in the day-to-day management, marketing, and growth of her businesses. Committed to supporting her community, Lexie is honored to be joining the Board and looks forward to advancing Krempels’ mission.
Nanci Lovett
Nanci brings more than three decades of executive leadership experience in global logistics, supply chain management, and business development. Throughout her career, she has built high-performing sales organizations, led complex international operations, and developed strategic partnerships across North America, Europe, and Asia. As Senior Director of Business Development for IFS Worldwide Logistics, Nanci helps organizations navigate sophisticated transportation and supply chain challenges while driving sustainable business growth. Her previous leadership roles with Omni Logistics, U-Freight America, and OIA Global included launching new offices, developing international distribution networks, and leading teams supporting industries ranging from medical and aerospace to technology and apparel. Known for her strategic thinking, collaborative leadership, and ability to build lasting relationships, Nanci has earned a reputation as a trusted advisor and accomplished business executive. She is proud to serve on the Board of Directors, where she is committed to advancing the organization’s mission and expanding its impact.
