Internship Opportunities at Krempels Brain Injury Center
Krempels offers internship opportunities to undergraduate and graduate-level students in allied health, human services, and other relevant areas of study. Over 25 years, over 2,000 students have interned with Krempels Brain Injury Center.
The mission of the student internship program is to provide a hands-on professional internship experiences that promote the development of professional skills and behaviors as well as provide an introduction to issues and challenges facing brain injury survivors. Our experienced professional staff provide high quality group and/or individual supervision throughout internship experiences.
Primary goals of internships include the development of:
- Professional skills and behaviors including professional presentation, interpersonal skills, team work, and responsible fulfillment of duties
- Professional group and individual evaluation and intervention skills and an understanding of your profession’s scope of practice within a community setting
- Therapist-client interactive skills and understanding of therapeutic use of self
- Group planning and implementation skills, including choosing appropriate activities, understanding the therapeutic value of chosen activities and the adaptation of activities and the environment to meet members’ needs
