25th Anniversary Celebration

25 Years of Triumph: Krempels Celebrates a Milestone of Healing and Hope

Supporters, members, and staff alike came together to celebrate the past and fundraise for Krempels’ future; raising over $200,000 during the evening!

On June 11, 2025, Krempels Brain Injury Center reached a milestone that few nonprofit organizations ever experience—celebrating our 25th anniversary of transformative impact. What began as one man’s vision has blossomed into a nationally recognized model of support for individuals living with brain injury. And thanks to the generosity of the nearly 200 attendees, the celebration also raised over $200,000 to support Krempels now and into the future—marking it as the most successful single fundraising event in Krempels’ history.

For those living with brain injuries, life after rehabilitation can be isolating and uncertain. Krempels Brain Injury Center fills that gap—offering support groups, therapeutic programming, and a welcoming community where survivors can reclaim their sense of self, regardless of their ability to pay. The funds raised during the anniversary event ensure these critical services will continue to grow, and that we continue our commitment to never turning a survivor away due to inability to pay.

The event was held at the Wentworth by the Sea Country Club Pavillion in Portsmouth, NH, and the evening was more than just a fundraiser; it was a tribute to resilience, community, and the enduring legacy of our founder, David Krempels. “There were lots of tears—tears of joy—triggered simply by the overwhelming generosity and in knowing that what we built here is still so important 25 years later,” said Krempels, who survived a traumatic brain injury in 1992 and later launched the center in 2000.

Throughout the evening, guests heard stories of perseverance and hope directly from Krempels members. Many shared how the Center has changed their lives, offering a lifeline when few other resources were available. Their stories underscored the reality that public programs like Medicaid rarely cover long-term recovery services—and why private donations, foundation grants, and community support remain essential to the Center’s mission.

“The evening was nothing short of electric. Not only was this a moment to honor our members, founders, and longtime supporters—it was a turning point. When the total raised was announced, I was speechless. It was a moment we will never forget.” -Cariann Harsh Daley, Executive Director

“Celebrating 25 years of empowering triumph after traumatic brain injury was powerful. The turnout at the event showed us how many people believe in the Krempels model and want to see it thrive.” said Board Member, Susanna Fier

The 25th Anniversary Celebration wasn’t just about the past—it was a call to support the future. With such strong momentum, Krempels is poised to expand its reach, serve more individuals, and deepen our impact. It was a reminder that healing is not a destination, but a journey best traveled in community. Together, we create triumphs out of tragedies.
