Each year, millions of people in the U.S. are treated and released from hospitals as a result of an acquired brain injury, such as stroke, traumatic brain injury (TBI), brain tumor, infection or an event causing a loss of oxygen to the brain. People living with the chronic effects of their brain injury face significant barriers in their daily lives with things like memory, speech and mobility, as well as a loss of social connection and financial stability. Ensuring true Continuum of Care
Northeast Rehabilitation Hospital Network is a leading healthcare organization dedicated to helping patients regain their independence and improve their quality of life after an unexpected injury or illness. Since 1984, our Network has grown to include four acute inpatient rehabilitation hospitals and 20 outpatient clinics where we provide personalized physical, occupational, and speech therapy, including specialized brain injury rehabilitation care. Our locations collectively serve the Seacoast (NH), the Greater Merrimack Valley (NH and MA) and Southern NH. We believe that every patient’s rehabilitation journey continues well beyond their experiences with our team. That’s why we continue to foster relationships with organizations, like Krempels, that share our commitment to helping people rebuild their lives.
Impact in Action
During the summer of 2024 NRHN committed to supporting a deeply loved trial program at Krempels, the Let’s “Talk Radio” Podcast. With the backing of NRHN, Krempels has been able to make Let’s Talk Radio a permanent group offering and better yet, fully complete and publish the member created Podcast publicly! Impact in Action
Newburyport Bank joined Krempels as a Corporate Partner with visionary support for our Member Transportation Pilot. Their investment made possible the purchase of the Krempels Express mini-bus, helping remove one of the most significant barriers some brain injury survivors face: simply getting to Krempels.
The bus will provide transportation to and from the Center for members who might otherwise be unable to attend because of transportation challenges. It will also expand opportunities during program days, allowing members to participate in community outings, recreational activities, educational experiences, and other meaningful experiences throughout the Seacoast.
Through this partnership, Newburyport Bank is helping Krempels to Journey Well by expanding access, strengthening community connections, and creating new opportunities for participation and independence.

Impact In Action
On May 6, 2024 FedPoint volunteers, Krempels staff, and brain injury survivors worked to install four raised, wheelchair accessible garden beds.
